PDF Phone Stand 3D Printer Model
Summary
Since many of us will be working from home for the foreseeable future, this phone stand allows for perfect pictures to be taken of 8.5X11 paper. This can be used to scan paper and upload as PDFs for those who must use their phone. This design has been tested with a Galaxy Note 8, iPhone 6, and LG X Charge. All work very well.
Print:
- 2X PDF rod
- 2X PDF top piece
- 2X PDF foot
- 1X PDF phone holder
WARNING:
Tolerances are very small (0.005 inches or 0.127 mm) so parts will fit together very tightly.
- Also print the phone holder with a raft or brim if printing vertically as pictured above. My phone holder part failed mid-print but still works. The actual phone holder part is wider than what is pictured.
Print Settings:
- 2 walls, 2 bottom and top layers
- 10% infill
- 0.2 mm layer height
These settings are the most material efficient, as many of us are limited to only the filament we have on hand. The final part is still more than strong enough. This design is easy to assemble, requires no external hardware, and is very sturdy.
Assembly Notes:
Some force is required to assemble. After assembly, the stand should be exactly 9 inches at its tallest. This is a good way to check if all parts are inserted completely.
A viewing window has been added to the underside of the PDF phone holder part to help center it on the two top piece parts.
- Due to the small tolerances, this design can be difficult to disassemble.
Please feel free to make any improvements to this design.
