Laser Cut Adjustable Hologram Box Generator for Screens

Do you have LCD screens you no longer need? Here is a project that will allow you to recycle them.

The hologram technology used is based on an optical effect called Pepper's ghost: the reflection of a screen in a glass creates the illusion, looking at the glass, that the object is behind. For this project, I place a screen suspended over a transparent pyramid giving a body to the reflections of a screen not visible to the viewer.

This box generator is designed for screens ranging from the smallest tablets to the largest PC monitors. The box was considered on a square base, designating the slabs in 4/3 format as the most suitable, without limitation for the 16 / 9th. The generator provides a vector file for a laser cutter, which is commonly found in a fablab.

The box can be made in medium or plywood. The support columns between the lower box and the case of the screen can be made of transparent acrylic (Plexiglas) so as not to interfere with vision.

I have not yet found a product reference for the material of the pyramid. At first, I used acrylic coated with solar film tinted for car window, without result. I then used a pyramid purchased in a tablet kit, the result is perfect. I still can not find equivalent material on the market to cut a pyramid using the generator, to the dimensions of my screen. Any help in the comments would be very appreciated!
