Adjustable Airplane Phone Holder 3D Printer Model
Summary
I do a reasonable amount of flying for work and it has always been a pain holding or propping up my phone so I can watch movies. I tried some low-tech methods over the years but this design is my current solution.
I got inspiration for this from the following design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3129751 but after trying it a few times I wanted something more adjustable.
I designed a similar way of attaching the holder to the seat and griping the phone but with adjustability in mind. The only extra hardware is an M3 nut and bolt for the adjustment knob.
I have used this now for a good few flights and can report it works well. The adjustable angle works well especially when the seat in front is reclined as well as the adjustable tray grip
.
Printed with a 0.2mm layer height in shocking Prusa orange PETG so I can see it when it ends up on the plane floor.
The OpenSCAD file should be adjustable should this not meet your needs but I have not tested other dimensions so results may vary. Some supports are required but I have built that into the script.
Update 20th October. - Added STL files in a ZIP for the individual parts. (no supports)
