Summary

This is a useful caddy/container/holder for an external hard drive to sit in, which then hangs from the back of the Xbox Series X when it is in the upright position.

I had noticed there is a little slit on the back, up by the fan, which could be used to attach or hang something from. I wanted a way to attach an external hard drive to the back of my console so that it is neat/tidy and out of the way... this solved that for me by allowing a place to put my 3.5" external hard drive and have it attached to the back of my Xbox where it isn't very visible.

I created one with a specific dimension to fit my exact hard drive enclosure, but then created two more to be able to fit some different sizes.

I have included 5 files.

  • This one should fit some fairly common 2.5" hard drive enclosures that are no larger than 84mm wide and 25mm thick, where USB connections are shifted to the sides of the bottom:

  • This one should fit some fairly common 2.5" hard drive enclosures that are no larger than 84mm wide and 25mm thick, where USB connections are centered on bottom:

  • This one should fit some fairly common 2.5" hard drive enclosures that are no larger than 84mm wide and 14mm thick, where USB connections are centered on bottom:
    Xbox_HDD_Hanger_84w-x-14d_no_center.stl

  • This one should fit some fairly common 3.5" hard drive enclosures that are no larger than 123mm wide and 37mm thick:
    Xbox_HDD_Hanger_123w-x-37d.stl

  • This one was made to fit my hard drive specifically, and will fit enclosures that are no
larger than 126mm wide and 31mm thick:
    Xbox_HDD_Hanger_126w-x-31d.stl

  • As for height, there is not a constraint other than the taller a drive is, the more likely it will be to stand higher than the top of your Xbox.

I printed it in a black PLA to help it blend in better with the Xbox.

Edit - Feb 1st '21 - I realized that the smaller file's hanger's were off centered... so I have adjusted that and re-uploaded the stl. I have also included 2 more versions of the smaller caddy that removes the center support on the bottom and expands the side supports on the bottom to accommodate hard drives with different USB port locations that are more centered, and to accommodate two different thicknesses of hard drives. (one at a max of 14mm and the other at a max of 25mm)
