A custom, portable chess set and chess board featuring a medieval theme. The pieces themselves range from 1.73" to 2.17" (44-55mm) in height. The board is approximately 10" square (~250mm) and folds in half to create a storage container for the pieces.
The playing surface of the board and the corresponding chess squares are printed in a magnetic filament, and each chess piece contains a slot at bottom for a neodymium magnet. The board itself includes decorative inlays as well as additional magnets that connect the halves together.
Board elements were printed using an FDM printer (Bambu X1C), while the individual pieces and inlays were created with a resin printer (Mars 3) to maintain detail and decrease overall print time.
