I was looking for a tablet stand for my NordicTrack Freestride elliptical as the built in tablet holder completely blocks the machine display. I found a great design here by Zpsmi that clamps on has adjustable tilt, and doesn't require any additional hardware (except for rubber pads on the clamp feet, at least with my machine as it has a slightly curved back panel.)
My remix address 4 issues that I encountered with my particular setup:
My machine has a very high up console so the tablet is much higher up than I wanted it. I was able to drop the bottom of the tablet about a half inch lower from the pivot point without obscuring the machines display which also gave the setup more stability.
I made the overall tablet holder wider and taller to more securely hold a larger device (In my case a Surface Book Pro display) as during strenuous workouts the device would slide around a bit. This also allowed the clamps to attach farther apart adding even more stability.
The lip on the bottom of the tablet stand was way deeper than it needed to be for the thickeness of my device and also a bit too shallow in the front to keep it from falling forward if it tipped that way. I adjusted both those measurements and also cut an access at the very bottom to attach my surface books charger.
Check out the original design for printing instructions on the "arranged small parts" file. Those are all untouched. Also consider the original design, all of my changes are 100% due to my particular pairing of a unusual tablet with an unusual elliptical.
