Summary

My third addition to Thingiverse; A Saami inspired lasso ring. (The last picture is of one I made out of actual reindeer antler and pitched rope that I actually use, so you can see what they look like, rope and all)

The Saami lasso is a vital part of their toolkit, and they are seldom seen without it. They use it to capture reindeers antlers, pull themselves from ice if they fall in, bind and hold things, climb, and many other things. A saami without their lasso is like an accountant without his calculator.

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS!!!
Print on its side (not laying flat) at 100% infill for maximum strength and detail, if you plan to use it, consider using an abrasion resistant filament material.

I coloured in the cut embossments with an ultra fine tipped sharpie. Everytime I would accidentally "paint out of the box", I would QUICKLY rub the excess off with my thumb, and then my work shirt.

Printing it flat will be functional and take less time, but the art will likely not turn out looking very good.

supporting everything (option in cura, or equivalent for your slicer program) is optional, with good printers

i used the "rope machine" from thingiverse by T3CHKOMMIE to twist up 4 strands of paracord (then wax it) to make the lasso rope for these. you want your rope to be about 50-70 feet long, and stiff, therefore its best to have a friend help you with the rope making process (help makes it more consistent, and less of a pain at those lengths)

also, please post pictures if you decide to make it! skål!
