The file 'Revolving Lip Balm Organizer 3D Printer Model' is (SLDPRT,STL) file type, size is 957.4KB.
This is a rotation lip balm holder inspired by the look of a revolver's cylinder. I designed it as part of a SolidWorks class to solve a silly and unconventional problem I had. It is a very basic design, and this only its first revision. I'm uploading the .stl and .sldprt files for both pieces so that anybody may try it out and improve it, as I will also continue to do. Overall, this took about 11 hours to print on an Ultimaker Method with whatever basic setting were on there (uni-owned printers).
NOTE:
-Base spindle is a couple thousandths smaller diameter than cylinder hole
-The hole on the base spindle is sized to be threaded for a 3/8-24 screw. These threads do not show up in the print itself.
-Accepts most common tube-shape lip balms
NOTABLE FLAWS:
-The top hole on the base should be used to secure some sort of washer or disk so that the assembly can't fall apart when it's lifted up.
-A method is needed to hold the base to the ground so that it can be used one-handed.
Additionally: This post is dedicated to my girlfriend. I would not have the lip balms or motivation to post this project (albeit a basic one) without her.
