Summary

Hello makers,

this is a FlexIO v1 module for the well-known HP Pro- and Elitedesk Mini PCs

It should fit most of those puppies up to G5. It's a small part. If you are unsure, just test it.

artu_cast did a really good job with the original design. I only had to make the cutout for the RJ45 port bigger, so it fits my Iocrest IO-M2F107-GLAN card.
If you still need a similar NIC, this one has a standard Marvell AQtion chip, therefore you don't have to use those Chinese drivers, should you not trust them. Product page: http://www.iocrest.com/index.php?id=2348
I bought mine on AliExpress but from a 3rd party seller for a better price.

Important notes:

  1. Obviously, you have to make use of the breaking points in the RJ45 board to get it into that tin, but then you got a 3D printer and can easily make an adapter, should you ever want to go back.
  2. Mind the springs on the port's shield when you assemble it. It's a snug fit.
  3. The screw holes at the top should be fitted with ≤M2.5 x 4 x 3.5 heated inserts.
  4. With the card installed, the original 2.5 cage won't fit any longer, but you have to keep that almost useless fan in order to avoid POST error 901. This "feature" can't be switched off - at least on my 705 G5. This cage from printables, 3 threaded sleeves, and 6 screws solved the problem for now.
I still want to add a 2.5" drive and I'm going to revisit that topic. Soon™.

Have fun tinkering!
