Summary

2024 update: I've released a new version of the non-motorized escalator, which contains a bunch of improvements: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6474393. Stay tuned for the motorized update!

This is a motorized version of my mini escalator design.

If you're looking for the non-motorized design, Thingiverse seems to be bugging as usual and 404s the page. You can instead find it at Printables here: https://www.printables.com/model/165271-mini-desktop-escalator

This design is also available on Printables: https://www.printables.com/model/190972-motorized-mini-desktop-escalator

You will need:

  • 19 M3x12mm bolts
  • 18 M3 nuts
  • N20 geared motor, 30RPM 6V
  • TP4056 battery charging board (USB C preferred)
  • 18650 battery and holder (pouch cells probably work too, just need to find one that fits)
  • DPDT 3-position On-Off-On toggle switch
  • Wires
  • Hot glue or double sided tape, to attach battery holder and charging board

Assembly is essentially the same as the non-motorized version, and parts are generally cross-compatible. Make sure to install the motor onto the right side outer guide before attaching the guide to the rest of the escalator.

Will add a more detailed set of assembly instructions when I find the time, likely in video form.
