Summary

It seems that no matter where you go, people eat their french fries differently. In Germany, it was "pomme frites mit mayo", In the U.S., ketchup is the condiment of choice for fries where most are concerned.

I recently moved from Michigan to Oklahoma and found it's popular to use a dipping sauce comprised of ketchup, mayo, pickle juice, and salt in lieu of ketchup. One of the burger places we frequent these days is "Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers". Both the burgers and shoe string fries are identical to a burger place we ate at in Michigan, "Steak & Shake". Freddy's serves their french fries with individual serving packets of the above mentioned dipping sauce.

Eating at Red Robin out here, you'll notice they too bring a similar dipping sauce to the table for their steak fries.

For 50 plus years, I've eaten my fries with ketchup, even in countries where that seems an act of heresy. While I'm not onboard with the dipping sauce used by many out here, my wife has evolved to the point of using the dipping sauce almost exclusively on her french fries. Since my wife is the only member of my family to use "Freddy's Famous Fry Sauce", there are always unopened packets left over. I've recently been reorganizing the left over condiments drawer and making little trays for taco sauce packets, chili sauce packets, etc. There were enough of these fry sauces floating around the drawer, it seemed they needed their own place as well...

It probably goes without saying that this is a very niche item. The Freddy's sauce containers measure 60mm across the top, which is the widest part of the cup. Unless there are other condiments using this package size and form factor, this model will probably only work for the Freddy's fry sauces. It's designed to accommodate 10 sauces, 5 on either side.

Pay no attention to the photo of my multi-colored tray. I started printing with a spool of glossy black that looked to have enough filament but that wasn't the case. I continued the print with some remnant flat black from another spool that was running low, and it ran out as well. I figured color didn't matter anymore at that point so I finished the print with what was left over on one of my green spools. I was going to just spray it solid black, but my wife likes the way it looks, so until she says otherwise, it will remain as it is.
