This is a chess board designed to print as a single piece in one color. The board is checkered by contrasting cutout patterns of lines and circles. This print requires a printer with a large print bed as the board dimensions are 290mm x 290mm. I created two versions of this board, there is an indented board and a flat top board.
The indented board has the circle cutout squares raised and the line cutouts lowered. This adds to the contrast between the squares, but does not allow pieces to be slid across the board. This board is 3mm thick.
The flat top board is completely flat, this allows pieces to be easily slid from square to square. This board is 1.2mm thick, and can easily be thickened or thinned by adjusting the z scale in a slicer.
Due to the many circle cutouts in this model it may take a very long time to slice, up to 30 minutes.
