Got the idea when returning from a visit to Fab Lab Berlin in July 2014:
- An intern had cut a bendable cover for his report, probably thing 12707.
- There was lots of talk about digitally manufactured glasses.
For the future
- Optimize pattern for bending. Currently it's guesswork: Based on thing 12707, I simply drew something that I thought could work, and it does.
- Make eyeglasses foldable flat, fixable with cords. At the moment, the temples collide, preventing bending both by 180°.
- Parameterize design for different faces.
- Experiment with different cords.
