Create your own 84mm Swiss Army knife with these CAD files for the liners. I was not able to find files like these for my own custom SAK, and had to design my own. These 2D files can be used to fabricate the liners on a waterjet or laser cutter.
The liner CAD files are uploaded individually for the:
This should allow most 84mm knives to be fabricated.
I find the keyring nib on the OEM liners to be awfully thin, and so extended the keyring to the knife rest section, to double it up and give it more strength. The knife rest liner should always be 1mm in thickness, regardless of the thickness of the other scales.
Another CAD file is included integrating all the liners on a single drawing. This has been done to provide an option for cheaply manufacturing these if the liners are being sent off to a commercial machine shop to get fabricated, such as laserboost.com (an outfit I highly recommend). The cost would be much more to have each liner individually made, if only a one-off is required. The liners in this case should be cut out and sanded to remove the attachment tabs.
One thing to keep in mind with these CAD drawings is they are exact in size. That’s great if they’re being used to make something like G10 liners. However, if the liners are being fabricated from metal (brass, titanium etc). and will be sanded and polished, they should be made to be slightly oversize to take this into account. This can be done with any CAD software, where the outline of the liner should be scaled up by approximately 0.5mm all around, whilst keeping the pivot holes in the same place and the same size.
