There are already a lot of smartphone/tablet stands out there that [I] [really] [like]. (Here's [my favorite].) But I wanted to make my own, and I wanted the design to have all the features I felt were essential to a good iPad stand:
This stand is what I came up with.
I laser cut my stand on a Glowforge. You may have to adjust the line width and color depending on your laser cutter and software. This design also requires 3/8" dowel stock which you will cut to size.
