This is a protective carrying case for a pair of dial calipers.
This is designed to be laser cut out of 3mm plywood (kerf width 0.2mm). The parts can be glued together using PVA glue and then varnished. Note that the living hinge curves on the side might need to be steamed to get them to bend without breaking.
The mechanism for keeping the lid closed is a length of piano wire bent into a long 'U' shape and clamped in place with an off-cut of steel with 2 M3 threaded holes in it.
The inside should have felt or some other soft material glued inside to protect the calipers from being rattled around.
The dimensions are sized to my pair of calipers - you may need to make adjustments as required.
