Summary

This is a close to accurate model of a Zamperla Giant Discovery 40 Emergency Brake. When power to the ride is lost a pair of these can be engaged to bring the ride to a stop by clamping down on a brake pad that is attached to the output shift of the reduction box. This is the model we have chosen to release as part of a new tradition that for each new "How Does This Ride Work?" video digital and physical models will be made and one will be released for all to enjoy and use as part of our mission to promote and inspire others to pursue S.T.E.M. and engineering related education.
