The file 'Year Of The Dog… ‘Dog’ 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 2.2 MB.

Summary

Designed for the 'Year of the Dog' in 2018 there are two .stl's provided. One includes decorations for the Chinese year and the other is a plain... dog. Both just small and easy prints.

However, both feature a tail that will lift/drop and wag from left to right... just for fun!

To make the print two color pause your machine and swap filament at approx. 1mm printed and then again with 8mm printed. The first pause needs to be before the undecorated layers start to print at 1.25mm. The second when you start seeing the decoration features printing on top of the undecorated layers below. This happens with 7.75mm printed. The total height (depth when standing) is 9mm.

The photos provided demonstrate how the tail can move up and down as well as from side to side. This requires a well set up / accurate / precise machine and a well sliced file.... but most modern machines should deal with the fine internal clearances between the moving parts with no issues.

If you run into fusing issues with the moving parts this is usually caused by the slicing app you are using, your machines inability to print precisely / accurately, or an inefficient filament cooling fan. These are the key areas to check / work on... the quick fix is to uniformly scale the model up by 5 - 10% which will increase the internal clearances so they can be freed up and move as intended.

These dogs look great printed in any colour. They will scale up okay but scaling down is likely to result in the moving parts fusing so the tail won't move as intended.

Please read the print settings information and view the images provided to help ensure you get a great result... and post images of your 'Dog' prints for other members to see.
