The file 'XYZ Da Vinci Filament Cartridge Spool Replacement 3D Printer Model' is (STL) file type, size is 99.0KB.
I designed this to be a direct replacement for the XYZ da Vinci filament spools inside their proprietary cartridges. I like to feed my printer from cartridges I refill myself because it keeps everything neat and contained and the stock cartridge assembly does a pretty good job of preventing intermittent self-unwinding and tangling that can occur with a simple exterior spool arrangement.
I left 6 square cutouts identical to the stock spools, so these should be compatible with your own filament winding apparatus if you have one (or if you'd like to use the drill-mounted one I designed, which I will upload next).
Printing my own extra spools lets me fill them with new filament while prints are ongoing. I also melted two of my original spools slightly by letting the oven get about 15C too hot while drying some filament. Oops.
Printed at 100% infill, each spool requires about 110g of ABS filament. The two halves are different and must be epoxied together. They are designed to be self-centering. I epoxied three together using some cheap Harbor Freight 2 part quick curing epoxy and had no problems.
As usual, use this design at your own risk, I am not responsible for any damages or injuries that may result from using these parts.
