The file 'X-Wing Game Base 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 8.1KB.
A base for the ships in the Star Wars X-Wing miniatures game. I picked up a copy today that was missing all of the bases. I tried printing out a couple of the designs already posted to Thingiverse but I couldn't get them to fit the components correctly. Tolerances are tough sometimes. So I broke out the calipers on my good copy of the game and made my own model.
I put holes into the base so that the design uses less material. I also avoided replicating those teeny tiny directional keys on the original's rod, instead I designed some larger, more difficult to break connections. This means that the ship's connector slides inside of the base rod, but it seems a small compromise to have a much sturdier result.
I've found a bit of variability even in PLA I've printed with, some spools seem to come out a bit tighter than others. So your mileage may vary, but this design works well for me. Enjoy!
Update - added a revised version. This new version has the post narrowed by a tiny bit to ease assembly, and I've added bevels to the post hole, the supports that sit against the back of the ship identifier tokens, and to the sides of the base.
