Pull the trigger to drop the hammer, manually advance to the next round.
Note: The barrels do not revolve when pulling the trigger. Early pepperbox pistols were manually indexed. This was to reduce complexity (see my signalis pistol for an attempt at revolving barrels).
They do, however, have a satisfying 'click' as the barrel snaps into the detent.
Also, although some pepperbox pistols were break-action, the lore explicitly provides good reason for them being muzzle-loaders, so I have gone with that. However, I was able to add the ability to easily eject 'dud' rounds (as real muzzle loaders have issue with this, but all prop rounds will, of course, be duds).
See the 'wire handle'. I used ~1.4mm wire for the ejector, but anything close will likely do.
The paper cartridges were made 'like real ones', with a little bit of filter paper, a string to cinch, and a touch of glue. Something like in this video.
You can print the hammer, trigger, latch, and trigger-plate first, as a way of fully testing your rubber band tension and tolerances and whatnot. Then, when you are ready to load it into the gun, you can simply glue the trigger-pate to the corresponding slot on the body-left.
Similarly, you can print the ring-holder and test-barrel to check the detends work well before committing to printing the whole barrel.
