The file 'Working N Scale Bogies And Wheels For FDM Or SLA Printing 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 55.5KB.

Summary

These work and roll, ready for attachment to your 3d printed wagon of choice.

In the future I hope to make detail parts (roller bearing side detail) which can be printed horizontally and glued on.

These are intended as a base for scratch building, the wheels are designed to n-scale spec, except the flanges are double width, and the tread is +02mm wider.

I have not exhaustively tested these, I currently don't have an N scale layout, but here is a quick demonstration of rolling on printed track.

These were designed with SLA printing in mind. There are two versions of the bogie:

(1) a safe version, which should give you no grief on any FDM printer, if printed slowly and carefully; and

(2) a minimal version, which is a challenging print for an FDM printer, particularly if your retraction settings are not dialled, but should be ok for SLA (I have not tested this as I only run FDM)

The wheels work with either version. A normal staple (as found in your household stapler) is the axle.

On FDM they are best printed at a resolution of 0.12 or below, and very slowly (<10mm/s)
