Summary

This is a wine rack for an IKEA KALLAX shelf, it can be lasered/CNCd from any thickness of plywood, remember to se the thickness in the source though!

Suggested toolpath, I used a Epilog Legend 36EXT 75W laser:

  1. Open the .scad file and set your plywood thickness in ply_size_mm = 6;. There is no need to account for the width of the laser beam, it usually gives you the tolerance you need to be able to slide it together once cut.
  2. Make sure //assemble = true; is commented to get the 2D view, hit F6 and export all the parts as dxf (NOT SVG).
  3. Import the parts into inkscape and lay them out on a page that fits your plywood/laser bed. Pay attention to the direction of the wood-grain on your ply.
  4. Set the parts to no fill and a solid stroke of 0.025mm.
  5. Save as (not export) the pages in PDF form and print them to the laser cutter.
  6. Optionally glue the rack together, mine is quite sturdy as it is.

The pre-exported DXF and SVG files are for 6mm ply.
