A friend of mine, who works as a handyman, requested if I could make a replacement hinge for an aluminum window, since he couldn't find the same.
I was provided with exact measurements and did the best I could at Tinkercad. The printed hinge fits perfectly for the task, however I had my concerns regarding how sturdy it would be (even printed at 100% infill, it is still plastic, the original was metal).
What we ended up doing was use the printed part as a prototype and make a mold of it, which we cast with hard epoxy resin, and that produces a more sturdy result. It is also possible to make a mold and cast it in metal as well (if you know how and have the equipment I guess).
Enjoy!
