The file 'Willys MB – Unsorted Stuff 3D Printer Model' is (lua, stl) file type, size is 21.2MB.

Summary

This is a 'thing in progress'.
**Adding stuff from time to time, mostly .png (screenshots) and .lua files (for IceSL editor and slicer)

Some unsorted stuff for an 1:10 Willy MB

  • Tyre: Based on bret4. Use 'tyre.lua' in IceSL to create an hollow tyre (place MB_Jeep_Tire.stl in the same directory. Prints fine without support (SoftPLA, perimeter, 5 shells, 5 covers, 20%infill, no support, 0.2mm layer height, filament: YS (Guangzhou Yousu Plastic Technology Co.) SoftPLA, 1.75mm(actual 1.58mm dia), black, at 250°C with 20mm/s, heated bed 90°C coated with jelly). Added 15.08.2017, updated 17.08.2017.
  • Jerry can and holder based on ossum and Intashu: Another jerry can with a detailed holder. The jerry can prints fine standing, the jerry can holder prints fine standing with support, and the strap guide can be printed with 0.2mm layer height if laying flat on the print bed. Take some gift ribbon (SoftPLA could be an option, too). Added 15.08.2017.
  • Rims and spare tyre holder based on bret4: Modified the bret4 rims to look like the real thing, for front, rear and spare tyre, and addedd a tyre holder. The outer rims connect to the axle (to come), print them with support. The inner rims are more or less a cosmetic feature. Intended to be glued together (hot glue will do for the rims and tyre), not screwed. The spare tyre holder needs proper glue (I use acetone for ABS). Added 23.08.2017.
  • Chassis front bumper: Another front bumper, looking more like the real thing. To be glued to the frame, no screws. Added 23.08.2017.
  • _tyre_50pitch.stl: Another tyre, not compatible with the current rims. It's 16 x 6.0 with 5.2 cap width, and it comes with manually generated support. Print it with 3 shells, 10 cover layers and 100%infill, but without support. The STL is large (because it's actually the tyre sliced into 0.2 mm layers and then converted to STL), it might take a while to load and slice (376074 vertices, 805442 triangles). A newer version with less material will follow (faster to print). Added 26.08.2017.

Current work in progress (last updated: 30.11.2017), with pictures:
-New frame
-Merged body parts (front: fenders, hood) and (rear: tub, fenders, tailgate)
-Powerful motor (A2212 brushless motor with gearbox, tested with 4S)
-New front axle housing (new top cover, including a servo mount)
-Transmission gearbox (distribution to front and back wheels), the axles going through this gearbox have a hole at both ends for a M2 self-tapping sunken screw. The connection between the axle and the dogbone cans or gear becomes very strong without using any glue.

Work in progress stuff (will be updated much later):

  • Steering wheel (STL not printed, design_steering_wheel.stl)
  • Seats (low res STL, work in progress, prints fine with support, added 02.08.2017)
  • Windshield (low res STL, actually 3 parts, too wide, prints fine, added 03.08.2017)

Things to come maybe later:

  • Donor car mod for 1/24 4WD (SUBOTECH BG1510A, BG1510B, BG1510C, GP Rider5, FSTgo BG1510B and other clones) as I could find one on sale. The width of this car is optimal, but it is too short and very much too fast. Maybe it'll be a high-speed Willy.
