The file 'Wide Tooth Comb (cnc/laser) 3D Printer Model' is (dxf, pdf, stl, svg) file type, size is 244.4KB.
The drawing of this comb was done in mere minutes. Hence this is a project to give you an idea on what is possible to do with a small desktop cnc. I took the geometry from a comb made from plastic that I really use a lot. The macassar veneer gives my version a unique and beautiful finish.
Using 2 mm (!) airplane plywood (3-ply) where glued on macassar veneer on both sides, resulting in a 5-layered piece of stock material. Then I cut the shape with my Stepcraft desktop cnc-machine and a spiral toothed 2 mm endmill. After cutting I sanded the teeth with a strip of sandpaper and finished the comb with a water based varnish.
As I don't have a 3d-printer I can not verify the usability of a print. Maybe someone could give it a try and show the result?
