The file 'Wanhao/Monoprice Laser Mounting Bracket 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 13.6KB.
Yet another laser mount for the Wanhao/Monoprice V2.1 printers. While I like the idea of using magnets to secure the laser to the printer for convenient installation/removal, it just doesn't feel like a safe thing to do. This bracket uses the location of the original hot-end cooling fan. Also this bracket has a place to install a SPDT switch for added laser safety during startup.
Use this part at your own risk!
I am not responsible for damage that you may incur to yourself, your property, or others. Class IV lasers are not toys and should be handled with extreme care. Wear appropriate eye protection at all times.
Have fun, but be careful.
Please let me know if you made one and/or if you like it. Feedback welcome!
1/23/18: First test burn on 1/4" plywood (Overwatch symbol). This was made by importing an image to FreeCAD, tracing (no pun intended), and padding to 0.25mm. Cura took care of the rest.
I just barely got the "Inkscape method" working this morning, so I will test that out this evening and post results. So far though, the bracket has been quite sturdy even at higher speeds.
