Yet another adjustable z-axis limit switch mount. I wanted a mount that had coarse and fine adjustments, required no printer modification, used the existing stock switch and stock screws, was completely printable, and had no additional parts required.
All of these goals have been met. However, the mount is more robust if a rubber band, like that from a news paper, or two small springs, like those from a retractable ink pen, are incorporated to help dampen the small motion due to moving part interface tolerances.
The design uses an interchangeable clipping switch mount that press fits onto the adjustment rods. Two common switch dimensions have been implemented. Others, including optical limit switches, would be easy to add.
For each of the two switch sizes, there is a design version for use with springs and another for a rubber band. The mswich_13a_XXX
versions are for use with the stock switch in the Wanhao Duplicator i3. So if you are not replacing your limit switch, start here and choose between:
1) mswitch_13a-build_plate_s.stl - stock switch spring version2) mswitch_13a-build_plate_b.stl - stock switch rubber band version
There are build plates for the resulting four combinations. If you need to print an individual component, the zip archive contains all of the rendered STL
model combinations.
As configured, the spring version of the mount enables approximately 20mm or coarse (-5mm to +15mm), and 10mm of fine (+/-5mm) adjustments.
This design makes use of the thread Screw Library.
