Summary

I wanted to put my plants up on the wall without having to buy or print an entire shelf as I wanted a sleeker look. So, we designed this Wall Planter Holder ! The 2 screw holes are designed to hold round head just as well as a flat head, so they do not protrude. In fact, the screws are mostly hidden and will even be invisible depending on your plant.

The planter in the photo is 4” in diameter. The Holder screws into the wall with 2 screws, and the planter simply sits in the Holder ring. I recommend a planter with a strainer that sits in an external pot / a planter that does not have drainage holes or you may risk water or dry dirt on your floor.

Simply print with the bottom of the Hanger on the bed. I did not need supports for the screw holes. Post a make of your Holders with your plant babies !

Pot size:
Diameter of the hole where the pot sits is 47.60mm (1.87 in, just under 1”7/8 , sorry, I’m in Canada :P )

Screw information a.k.a Counterbore hole dimensions:
The 2 screw holes are designed to hold round head just as well as a flat head. I used a #2 head and #8 screw.

  • Diameter of hole for screw head: 8mm (between 5/16” and 11/32”)
  • Depth of hole for screw head: 3mm (between 3/32” and 1/8”)
  • Diameter of hole for screw body: 4mm (between 5/32” and 3/16”)

(This converter is helpful for folks using the Imperial system: https://www.jneuhaus.com/fraction_to_mm.html)

Our next step is designing a solution to hold planters with drainage holes. Stay tuned =)
