Update for my side mounted analog solution for Walksnail Goggles X - this time using the Caddx analog/headtracking module (removed from the housing). Its loosely based on the quickfit design from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5264600, however I did not want to be sliding this on and off every time i pack my goggles away. So i made a hook for the goggle strap. so it could be removed very quickly when stowing the goggle in your carry bag.
It also has a pocket in the back where it mounts the Cooai analog DVR module: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005852577025.html so this represents a full analog input and recording solution for the Goggles X
The result is a very compact solution that doesnt add to the pressure on your face while using them.
I've included a cover for the Eachine Pro58, but the actual box here is based on the HDZero analog expansion bay. So there are plenty of models for covers for different receiver modules such as rapidfire or True D etc.
Printed the module box with PLA using tree support.
The base printed in PLA with tree support (flat side down) and 100% infill.
The goggle strap hook is printed in TPU face down (hook facing up) with tree supports
(added another version of the hook with more 'hook' so that it doesn't accidentally come off when the goggles arent on your head. I'm not sure how to print this as my printer isn't very well tuned)
The button may need to be placed in the hole using some needle nose tweezers. The slot for the DVR is quite tight, but it should slide right in without too much effort and held in place by the slot in the base.
The photos of the internals demonstrate how the power lead and 3.5mm lead is routed. For Power, i soldered some AWG20 silicone wire to the underside of the PCB and the leads run to the top side via the pocket at the front (near where the analog module socket header is). A cut down 5.5x2.1mm barrel jack extension is soldered to those silicone wires and routed out of the box through the grommet.
Cooeye DVR module is connected to the Caddx module by the 4 pin JST SH 1.0mm plug at the side of the analog/HT module, and the 3.5mm 4 ring lead goes to the 3 pin connector on the Cooeye DVR module (only using Video/Gnd).
Also added a version with no DVR pocket.
Added a shorter goggle strap hook. This puts the analog module a bit further forward, and may stop it drooping to the side if you have bigger antennas (some amount of droop is unavoidable)
