This is a cup holder phone mount for a lot Volkswagen cars with cup holder which doesn’t have a sliding lid, mount sits tight in the cup holder and there is no need to drill in your car interior, you can lead the USB cable next to passenger seat.
If you put it in line with the car, your gear knob might hit the phone (depends on phone), but you can turn it around little bit, that way the phone screen will be towards your sit position and wont interfere with the shift knob.
