Summary

I modified Magiva’s Votex Tube from https://grabcad.com/library/vortex-tube-106-2h-1 for 3D printing. I have not used this, it was made for a coworker who claims it works; however, it is on a small scale.
The tube, white, end should get hot. I made it out of polycarbonate to help handle the heat. For the main body, the gray part, I made from PLA. You will need a fitting for the compressed air hose. Increase the infill to help handle the air pressure. 80psi seemed to be the pressure at which my coworker made it work.

  1. Use a ¼ NPT male fitting, heat it, and melt it into the main body. Make sure you have an air tight seal and that the fitting will not pop off. (protect yourself from burns)
  2. Gel type super glue was used to join the tube and main body.

Caution: This will be subject to relatively high pressures. Take precautions to insure your own safety from explosions.
