Description: This is an iteration of a series of experimental designs for 3D printed wheels for Traxxas E-Revo 1:16 RC car. It is designed to be easily adaptable to other RC cars. This model is parametric, and the parameters are commented in the scad file.
Driving: I have tested my car with 4 of these wheels mounted, and I can tell you it is hilarious to drive! It takes some practice to get used to, but once you are there, its drifting time baby! My car does not have a central diff, I think that would be really beneficial. The wheels are sturdy as hell, but the pattern wears off pretty quickly. It doesn't break of, it sort of smears out to become smoother which is nice. While driving you will notice that you have to go really easy on the throttle to get it going, once it is up to speed you can start drifting about. Similarly, small nudges on the steering is all it takes to steer. I think these wheels forces you to become a better driver.
Please note: This is a prototype design that may have been superseded by better ideas.
Overal: Albeit the obvious room for improvement I am still quite happy with the result!
