This is a direct replacement for the cup holder insert that fits our 2008 Volvo S60. Print in TPU.
Due to the TPU being stiffer than the original rubber, it can "grip" styrofoam cups very well. We've not had any issues with tearing the cup apart but it is something to keep in mind. Maybe try printing it with 2 layers, top and bottom, rather than the 3 I did.
If you're using a Bowden extruder, you might want to enable "Avoid Crossing Perimeters" in your slicer when printing this in TPU. Otherwise, you'll have lots of strings between the inside of the print. Not that they are hard to remove, this is just to limit post-processing of the part.
UPDATE SEP 18 2024, I've uploaded a version 2 which has thinner tabs. This version works well for us and doesn't over-grip styrofoam cups.
