I made this tool to simplify opening the front and rear of the video light for service and modifications.
Apart from the printed part 12 screws are required. I used normal wooden screws with countersunk PZ2 head (7mm outer diameter of the head). This is important to fit into the lamp. The screw needs a flat top and an outside diameter of around 7 mm. Use what you have and see if it fits
Screw dimensions:
Flat head with 7 mm outer diameter
Maximum length 15 mm (to sit flush and not to through)
2 mm diameter core
Wooden thread (outer diameter 3,3 mm)
As seen in the images screws need to be mounted on opposite sides…
Cheap video light from aliexpress, about 50 euro. Good for the price but button is crap so need modifications to avoid flood. Wide angle beam so good for gopro or other wide angle video/photo. It has many names depending on store and configuration, for example BB18-1, BB14-4, BB14-7:6, BB27-1:15, QH27
Version information.
I have only printed v0.1 so far (pictured) and it works good enough except for the center feature to remove the plastic button. But the tolerances aren't perfect so i made some minor adjustments to version 0.2 but haven't tested yet but it should work. Use at your own risk.
