Update 2024-07-16
Added rack for Neo Geo Pocket / Pocket Color
Since I'm new to 3D printing and totally green when it comes to modelling I thought I'd try to make something that would turn out to be useful in the end.
Since I've been collecting computer and video games since the 1990's and my games are all stored away in boxes I thought it would be nice to be able to store them in a way that I can get to them easily while still being able to put them away when needed.
I looked around and got inspiration from some different projects and above all from j1m1sh on Thingiverse and his Video Game Cartridge Racks.
so I started modelling my own. Since I have a lot of GameGear games but no way to store them nicely I thought I'd start there. I have protective cases for all of my GameGear games and I have thus sized the first Video Game Cartridge Racks after that. I will make another set for games without protective cases.
Several (about 20 or so) iterations later this is what I've come up with. It's not perfect, it's maybe not even great but I'm really happy with my first 3D modelling project and thought I'd share it with anyone else who might be interested.
Important
Be careful when loosening the sections from the printbed since some of the connectors are quite thin and break if you're not careful.
Also make sure you get all the pegs lined up right before you try pressing the sections together.
I will be adding to these in the future to cover more game systems in my collection.
