The file 'Vibration Damper For Prusa I3 Mk2 UPDATE: Thicker And Sturdier Version Released 3D Printer Model' is (STL) file type, size is 66.8KB.

Summary

UPDATE: New, thicker and sturdier version of the original vibration dampers are released. When you print them, make sure that you have 3 perimeters and a 0,40mm extrusion width for the best result.

There are three versions:

  1. Standard version (2 perimeters and 0,40mm extrusion width)
  2. Thick version (3 perimeters and 0,40mm extrusion width)
  3. Mini version for those with a tight space (2 perimeter and 0,40mm extrusion width), these come with a drawback - they are a challenge to assemble

One vibration damper requires a A part and a B part that you assemble.

If the printer shakes, common sense tells you that it's bad. But that only means that the vibration energy is absorbed by the dampers instead of the printer's frame and its connecting components, which should in theory improve the printer quality.

But if you feel like the shaking is too much, then you can add this line to your slicer's starting script:
"M204 S750"
where 750 is acceleration in mm/s^2. This can be changed to whatever you like. Lower number means a slower acceleration.
