Summary

This is a very simple angle gauge. I needed a Q&D solution. It is not meant for frequent use, but if you just need to get an approximate angle from time to time, this thing should do the trick. It has an optional holder for a hexagonal pencil (because you will always forget to have one ready.... glue the holder to the slot on Shaft 1 if you want to use it).

How to use (see pictures):

  1. Place the gauge on the surface you want to measure the angle of and fasten the screw to secure the gauge in place
  2. take a sheet of paper and draw along the outline of the gauge
  3. prolong the lines until they cross
  4. measure the angle on paper

for smaller angles you can also use the inner sides of the shafts, or measure the angle directly from them without drawing on paper

I added a screw and nut, but you can also use a standard M6 hex screw and wing nut. I print screw+nut with 0.12mm layers and brim. Everything else with 0.2mm and supports.

You can scale the screw to like 98% of its original size to make it fit easier.

Store everything together as shown in the second picture, so its always ready to use ;D
