I just got a 3D printer, so I wanted to learn to model in Fusion 360 and print stuff—all while building something I actually needed. I also wanted to understand the capabilities and limits of FFF printing, so I was intentionally playing with overhangs and bridging, while still trying to keep the model easily printable.
A few key highlights of the design:
- Uses the light ring as a snap-fit joint (for a minimalist design and strong grip in any orientation)
- Includes cable channels at the base of the mount (for more flexibility in routing)
- Includes cutouts on the back for cables exiting the wall (all about the flexibility)
- Includes a slot at the bottom for a velcro cable strap
- Screw-in or wall-mount with two 3M Command Strips (you'll want to sand the back of the mount nice and smooth if you do this)
- Prints in one piece with no supports
