This is a replacement for a closure spring (part number 80023505) for the Veritas Famula sewing machines produced in the former GDR.
I've seen many YT-videos where Famulas missed this spring, with a shuttle compartment door always opened or even forcibly removed because it can't be closed properly without one.
Another problem, this "spring" was merely a thick and rigid metal plate that couldn't be bent at all and didn't work like a spring - at least in the models from latest 80's, therefore nowadays such a plate could damage the door, while the plastic it made of is aged and becomes way too brittle. So I would recommend to replace original rigid "spring" with this plastic one in any case.
