This is a third grade art project about the art of Vincent van Gogh. Students examine and discuss van Gogh's chair paintings: Vincent's Chair with His Pipe and Gaugain's Arm Chair. Students then use the 3D printed chair frame as the base for a personalized chair made out of clay. The finished chair is then painted.

The model chair is a remix of Chair by zephirus. I simplified the model and cut into two pieces that can be printed without support. There is a large surface in contact where the two parts are glued together so the model is sturdy enough to hold up to rough handling when the children mold clay onto the frame.
