note: the v2 files have more forgiving dimensions for the cable pass through channel.
I've modified my original design ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3886099 ) for those who are looking for something a little different. There is nothing wrong with the original version, but this provides some improvements and a different aesthetic. Important changes are below in CAPS.
The design keeps the mount, HMD, and controllers close to the wall because I didn't want it to stick out very far. Controllers can be easily grabbed or stored by placing hands naturally into them, even with your headset on.
CONTROLLERS MOVED ABOVE HMD IN THIS VERSION. STORAGE POCKET ADDED TO TOP OF MOUNT FOR MICROFIBER CLOTH, CABLES, STRAPS, ETC.
The slotted HMD docking mechanism prevents the headset from being able to twist off the mount or be accidentally knocked off. HMD lenses are also protected from light and dust due to the mount's orientation.
MODIFICATION FOR EASIER DOCKING ADDED TO THIS VERSION.
There are slots to allow for regular or magnetic chargers to be run through the mount to charge the controllers.
IMPROVED CABLE MANAGEMENT ADDED TO THIS VERSION.
The mount has 4 M4-6 screw holes, and a vanity cover to hide charging cables and screw holes for aesthetics. Assembly requires screwing into your wall with appropriate screws.
If you are concerned about the plastic scratching the HMD you can glue some cloth down to cushion and provide additional friction (I used the soft side of velcro strips).
Print Settings:
I would recommend using at least 20% infill for strength. I printed at 0.2mm layer height with 30% gyroid infill. Total print volume about 600 grams.
supports:
Print with the wall mounted side touching the print bed. recommend full supports. PLEASE check your supports before printing to make sure you're happy with their placement. grid or honeycomb recommended. Make sure the supports are removed smoothly from the controller mount ports to prevent scratching your controllers. Sand if needed.
Print the front panel logo up with supports for the whole model (use your easiest to remove support settings).
Enjoy!
