Caulk would probably work fine too. There are some springs in the photo. The springs allow the vacuum attachment to slide upwards when the router bit on the cnc machine slides downwards. This keeps it close in to the work piece. Positioned optimally I can cut in Multiple passes down to 1 inch depth and with each pass the vacuum brush remains the same contact with the work piece .I'm using this vacuum attachment with a small or large shop vacuum. . Too powerful of a vacuum may cause the brush to be drawn upwards from suction if your running into this issue a rubber band can hold the bush down . I did this at first but later added a speed control to the larger vacuum. I prefer to run a speed control on my vacuum like( Yeeco AC 110V 4000W SCR Voltage Regulator Speed Control Driver Dimming) . I've discovered little vacuums get hot when you run them too long so a large vacuum reduced in speed will last longer and stay reliable.
