Summary

This is a universal, toolless attachment system that is surprisingly robust.

With only one peg you get strong, tactile, and reusable attachment between any 2 parts.

One peg alone or two aligned to work as a hinge can allow for rotation under a decent amount of force. This could be perfect for a camera mount for example.

Use two or more aligned against each other to create the same extremely strong attachment but without allowing for rotation and ensuring the two parts align perfectly. This is what I used for a VR headset mount that was 2 pieces. I made a triangle of these pegs on the back plate of one piece and a receiving triangle pattern of holes on the other piece.

After over 300 attach-detach cycles the connection is still reliable and strong and I don't see it wearing out any time soon.

If you want to check tolerances feel free to print the test print, it should take under 30 min and does not need supports. You can also use the models in the test print or the boolean models I included to add this system easily to anything you want.
