There is a new filament sensor upcoming next week, i made it smaller, less complicated, and easy printable.

This is a 3D printed Filament sensor.
It will warn you of blocked filament or broken filament.

The arduino waits for a certain time to pass. If the sensor didn't put out any HIGH or LOW signal the arduino will respond with a continuous beep until the filament moves again.

Ps. I configurated the arduinosketch to work with a vary of 3dprinters, but if may be possible that you need to change the values of the sensor depending on what is your printspeed.(instructions written in arduino sketch)

BOM:

  • Arduino (Uno, mega, mini,etc) (i have uploaded the sketch)
  • 2x 608 bearings (8mm inner diameter)
  • 2x 5cm M8 rod.
  • 9x M8 nut
  • 2x M8 washer
  • simple buzzer
  • Speed sensor arduino
  • Double sided tape (you need to put it on the 2 guide wheels to prevent slipping rotations)

NOTE.----- MARLIN firmware users I am working on a solution to connect this sensor directly to your motherboard of the printer, when the sensor gets triggered he will pause the print and wait for user interaction.
When i finish this i will post the extra code but while you wait, feel free to use this instead!
