Summary

This is a first view of my own 3D Printer Project for a very Modular and upgradable printer. The UniPrint Mk I (Project Name) is in an early state yet. A special feature is it's extreme modular construction that will allow not only easy upgrades like other Motherboard, LCD or different mechanical components but also a quick-swap system that allows you to change Hot-Ends within just a minute to quickly switch between single or up to triple extruders or different nozzle sizes.

All development processes will be published here and 3D printed Parts of the Printer too. At this time I'm still on technical fine tune a lot of the parts so this will still stay a work in progress for a while. As soon as I'm able to build the first prototype, I will also publish a whole BOM list of all used parts.

Later you will be able to buy pre-assembled kits, finished printed special parts and also upgrade parts. So stay tuned!

Special Features:

  • GIANT build volume with 300x400mm Bed and 400mm Build height
  • Modular Hot-End mounts to quickly switch between different Hot-Ends types or change nozzle sizes or filament diameter
  • Planned support Hot-Ends from E3D like the V6, Cyclops, Chimera and Titan Aero for direct extrusion lovers
  • other Hot-Ends possible if desired by community in the future or just design your own mount module
  • As ultimate extruder setup, also support for RepRap Diamond (triple) Hot-End is planned
  • Easy swappable linear rails and standard sized LM12UU bearing sizes without any further disassembly
  • Massive 40x40mm aluminum frame for maximum stability and no vibrations or dislocations
  • Strong 59Ncm Nema17 Stepper Motors for core-xy mechanic, to apply maximum speed and precision control
  • Dual-Z drive for maximum stability and for easy balancing, just drive the bed all the way down to the bottom by hand
  • Premium Motherboard: RepRap Megatronics v3.1
  • Custm Marlin Firmware to switch between different configurations, depending on your used Hot-End and Extruder Setup

Also planned Features:

  • Option for Laser Engraver or Laser cut (only soft materials like plastics or wood)
  • CNC Head for simple milling jobs (also only wood and other soft materials but will check for metal like aluminum too)
  • Diamond Full Colour Hot-End (5 Colours at once? Yayyy! Need to evaluate if possible with my planned motherboard)
  • ... more to come, any suggestions?
