Summary

Looking for another model to feature my super-cool rotary engraved tires I came across the classic Mercedes Benz Unimog. The multi-purpose 4x4 truck was developed in 1945 and the 406-series started 1963. The name is an abbreviation of Universal-Motor-Gerät.

My build was done on a desktop cnc-machine by Stepcraft using a spiral-toothed 1.2 mm flute. I used 6.5 mm beech plywood and 20 mm acacia wood for the tires. The tires were engraved by my poor man's 4th axis. Two 6 mm beech rod made the axles, nylon spacers provide a low friction.

A laser cutter might be a good alternative tool to create smaller versions, you just need to find a solution for the engraved tires.

Keep in mind, that the stl is for three dimensional viewing purpose only. It will not print well on a fdm printer!
