Summary

This is an ultralight minimalist barefoot camping/shower/travel sandal

total weight: 1.5oz (42.6g) for both sandals (including lacing)

you can easily slide your foot in and out without tying any laces
designed to be worn with or without socks
the heel strap does not come off your heel as you walk around

To create individualized minimalist sandal:

  1. take measurements
    a. measure foot length (back of heal to tip of toes) while standing
    b. measure foot width at balls of foot (widest part) while standing
  2. open 'ULiteCmpShu_name.STL' in 3d builder
  3. set (sandal object length) = (foot length) + 10mm
  4. set (sandal object width) = (foot width) + 20mm
  5. input sandal thickness (0.4mm to 1.2mm), 0.8mm works well for this
    a. thicker for more protection, thinner for less weight
    b. this is based on use-case/preference, default works well
    c. when printing in the layer height should allow for a minimum of 2 layers
  6. save as Sandle_nameV0.3mf or .stl file
  7. print for left foot, mirror and print again for right foot
  8. use 1.18mm Nylon/Polyester micro-cord string to create laces

To create sandal laces:

  1. buy a roll of 1.18mm Nylon/Polyester microcord
  2. Take a 3ft piece of micro-cord and a 1 ft piece of micro-cord for each sandal
  3. slide the 3ft piece halfway into the front most hole and tie it off there
  4. lace it into the holes near the balls of your feet then under the previous cord
  5. lace the 1ft piece into a hole at your heal and tie it off at one end
Now you will need to use your feet to get the cord to the appropriate tightness
For this use your bare feet and don't overtighten the cord
  6. lace the 1ft cord so it crosses the top of your heal and tie it off to the other heal hole
  7. cross the laces of the 3ft piece of cord across the top of your foot and tie them to each side of the heal cord at the top of your heal
  8. cut of any extra cord and melt the ends

Note: a small twig can be used to tighten the laces
