While there are a lot of better looking shovels designs, this one is primarily focused on weight, strength and usability. It's comfortable and easy to use. At 15% infill it weighs just 3oz and has a hole for easy carrying. I rounded all the corners so it's pretty comfortable to use. No supports necessary, but be prepared with a good way to get it off your print bed because it has a lot of surface area. (It makes it print flat and strong.)
I'm planning on gold panning in Alaska this summer but I'm hiking in about 12 miles and needed an ultralight shovel to collect source material. I also needed a shovel to use for a latrine and wanted something light and strong. This design came to me as very light, easy to pack and strong as possible. It seems to work great!
