Dinther's build is fantastic and had worked perfectly for me until a bolt snapped when my tripod was knocked over. Out of necessity to keep filming the sporting event I used one of my daughter's hair ties to add pressure to the phone mounting grip. The hair tie was perfectly tensioned so that the phone can be lifted and tilted out or into the mount and keeps the lower/bottom mount units together when a phone is not within the clasps. I found this to be more convenient with both setup and travel and ultimately saves time.
Lower Update: Added a notch for elastic bands/hair tie, eliminates the need for the bolt.
Upper Update: Increased x and y by .5mm so the shaft can move more freely.
Bolt Update: Knurled knob for larger hands and additional torque.
**Only modified parts included; if you're looking for the concentric ring pivot point, as that was unmodified you can find it in the original @ "Ultimate tripod phone mount" by dinther
